Five pillars, on which we build the relationship.

Growth Retainer is not just "more hours" than SLA. It's a fundamentally different way of working — with strategic planning, transparent priorities and full accountability for business KPIs, not just task delivery.

01

Dedicated team 2–5 people

Architecture · Backend · Frontend · DevOps · PM

Every Monday at 9:00 AM, the Gorilla team holds a stand-up with the client — covering current sprint status, blockers, and the plan for the week. Everything is logged in the Gorilla Panel, available to the client 24/7.

02

Quarterly business KPI planning

Conversion · AOV · LTV · CAC

A 90-minute session reviewing the month's KPIs and progress on the quarterly roadmap, plus an analysis of the three most important technical topics from the perspective of the client's business growth.

03

Monthly strategy review with the board

Status · ROI · Roadmap · Risks

A full day working directly with the client's business owner on strategy for the coming quarter — auditing current results, identifying critical growth areas, and setting OKRs for the next 90 days.

04

Full Gorilla Panel transparency

Once a year · 2 days

A two-day offsite with the client's management team focused on the annual roadmap — competitor analysis, an audit of the store's own strengths, and setting the strategic direction for its technology development over the year ahead.

Three retainer levels with a dedicated team.

Every package includes a dedicated team assigned to your store — not freelance consultants rotated between clients. Choose a package based on the scale of your business and the ambition of your roadmap. Each can be modified after the first quarter based on actual needs.

Growth Retainer questions we hear most often.

When does an SLA stop being enough, and when is it worth considering a Growth Retainer?

+
The most common signal is annual revenue above PLN 10 million combined with a clear growth target (>30% year over year). Under an SLA we're reactive — we wait for tickets to come in. Under a Retainer, we proactively design growth. The second signal is the scale of change: if more than 30-40 hours of new development work (not fixes) come up in a given month, a Growth Retainer works out cheaper and delivers more value.

Can we start with the Maintenance package and move up later?

+
Yes — most Growth Retainer clients start with Maintenance and move up to Growth or Enterprise after 6-9 months. It's a natural path: first we get to know each other, establish a working rhythm, and see what results the retainer delivers. After that, scaling the team is a decision backed by real data.

Does the Growth Retainer also cover integrations with external systems?

+
Yes — larger integrations (ERP, WMS, marketplace) are part of the Growth and Enterprise scope. Maintenance covers roughly up to 40 hours of integration work per quarter. Beyond that, they become dedicated projects with a separate quote. Everything is planned transparently in the quarterly roadmap together with the business owner.

What if we need a specialization that isn't part of the retainer team?

+
Within Gorilla Commerce we have the full stack in-house — backend dev, frontend, UX/UI, DevOps, data, SEO, paid acquisition. For very specific needs (e.g. e-commerce legal consulting), we bring in external specialists for particular tasks — all included in the package price, with no hidden costs.

How long is the notice period for terminating a Growth Retainer agreement?

+
Six months in the first year, three months after that. This reflects the fact that a retainer requires assigning a dedicated team — short notice periods would create instability for the people on it. In practice, most clients stay in the retainer for 3-4 years without interruption.

Your Growth Retainer starts with a 60-minute conversation.

A Growth Retainer conversation is typically a 90-minute session with Gorilla Commerce's CTO or a strategist, during which we assess your store's current state and your 12-month growth ambitions, and match you with the right retainer package — complete with a concrete team proposal and quarterly scope.
